Uniform
Where do I buy my scout's uniform?
You may purchase your scout's uniform at any of the local scout shops. The closest store for our pack is at:
14250 Plymouth Avenue S, Burnsville (The store is in the strip mall attached to PetSmart near Chianti Grill)
The uniform purchase guides available for download at the bottom of the page will help with purchasing the uniform components for your scout.
What uniform do Lion Cubs wear?
Lion Cub dens can choose to wear the Lion t-shirt or the blue uniform shirt. Talk with your den to make a decision that all scouts will follow.
What uniform do Cub Scouts wear?
Cub Scouts wear the blue uniform shirt, official insignia, neckerchief, slide, hat (optional), and belt. Boy Scouts of America asks that Cub Scouts wear the official uniform pants, however our pack does not enforce this. We do ask that boys wear their uniform shirt with a nice looking, clean pair of pants (jeans are ok) or shorts.
What about Webelos?
As fourth and fifth graders outgrow their blue uniform shirt, or for boys who join in these grades, we recommend purchasing the tan Boy Scout uniform shirt, insignia (blue shoulder loops), and Boy Scout belt. Webelos continue to wear their Webelos neckerchief/slide and Webelos hat with their uniform.
I volunteered to be a leader, do I need a uniform?
We encourage all registered den leaders and Cubmasters to wear the official uniform. This helps set an example to the scouts on how to wear the uniform, and provides a way for new parents to identify leaders.
Where do I place the insignia?
Attached at the bottom of this page are uniform inspection sheets. These are included as a guide on insignia placement. We do a uniform inspection once a year during den meetings to help remind the scouts to wear their uniform proudly and to make sure insignia are in the correct place on the uniform. Please don't stress over exact measurements. Like all we do as Cub Scouts...."do your best" to keep insignia in the correct spot.
Where do I place all the awards my scout is earning?
This can be a daunting task! If you have any questions on where an award should be worn, please don't hesitate to ask your den leader or one of the Cubmasters. The following guide will help with placement of awards.
